Whether it’s the electro-bloghouse-authdisco act GLASS CANDY, or the P4kcore+authentic disco acts HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR or THE CHROMATICS—these acts can be legitimately appreciated by entry-level alts & 38 year old music critics for the same reasons.
I think people feel like they can appreciate authentic disco because it’s more meaningful than blog house/they think the ‘disco sound’ has had a relevant impact on society+music history. The thing about modern authentic disco is that I am not ‘blown away’ by it, but I am strangely drawn into aligning my personal brand with it.”
