This is man being mauled after trying to have a picnic with a bear in a Swiss zoo. Despite knowing what’s going on this picture, I can’t help but think that the bear still looks cuddly. Unfortunately, the bear had to be shot to save this Ranger Smith.

National Review posted this chart as some sort of condemnation of Obama but it seems to me like this distinction could possibly be a good thing. Presumably people leave their private sector jobs to work in government not out of the kindness of their hearts, but because they realize that with such power and connections greater sums of money can be made in the future. For private-to-public people, working in an administration is an investment. Conversely, people who work their entire lives in the public sector may not have much better motives, but for them their time in the administration isn’t an investment for some future goal, it is the goal itself.
